Anyone know if this is for consumer use?
Sony is planning to stage a massive exhibition of futuristic entertainment products currently in development in Yokohama City on the weekend of Sept. 14 and 15, it announced in Tokyo today (Wednesday). Among the products is the new Grating Light Valve digital projector, which reportedly offers unprecedented clarity and contrast and levels. (Scenes from Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones, from Sony rival 20th Century Fox will be screened.) In its FourthVIEW Theater, Sony will be displaying images captured by an "all-direction" camera, enabling viewers to see objects from virtually any angle. "They experience 360-degree images and feel they are 'really there,' a Sony press release said.
