Jeffrey,
I need to steal that car. I am having trouble winning the race against the Diablos, maybe that car will do it. I even tried putting a parking lot in front of the 3 cars, and they still got around it. :)
I even jacked a police car to race them, but I ended up flipping it and blowing it up.

I picked this one up last night at Best Buy in Marietta on my way back from vacation and Good Lord it is fun!! My favorite part so far has been I walk around beat these guys up...cops come....shoot cop....steal cop car.....go flip it and blow it up...then I went and just started getting into fights with people. I give it 10/10. Best game I've played since GT3(Haven't played DMC or SH2 yet.)

Finally got this at lunch today. I managed to play the first mission (as well as a little side stuff) before I came back to work. Now I'm dying to get home again!
This game rules!

It's selling out around here pretty fast. I went to EB to get mine the first day it came out and got the second last copy of 40. They had just gotten them in an hour before!
Right now I'm relocated in Stanton Island and it's getting tough! Cooler cars to be found now though, but you have to learn a whole new area, this game is huge!

Dean, I'm on the race mission too. It's easy to pass the other cars, but the damn race is so long that my car never stays together long enough to reach the finish!
The only thing I don't like is aiming weapons, different from the previous games because of the view. The auto-targeting doesn't always target the most dangerous enemies and it's tough to switch targets with the shoulder buttons. This means any missions where I have to use weapons are more annoying than fun

Other than that it's like the best game ever :)

The aiming takes some getting used to, but pretty soon I was able to zero in on who I really wanted. Just give them some time.

For those of you stuck on the racing...
Spoiler:
I was stuck on the racing forever. Then I used the police car. Use it! Its fast, but wont fish-tail like most other fast cars in this game. I blew the competition away afer the 3rd checkpoint or so. I ever crashed into the mountain! I was definitly relieved to finish that mission.

To pickup a hooker, pull up next to them and idle. They should walk up to the window. They will talk for a min, then walk around to the passenger door. Once they're inside, go to a secluded location and sit for a min. The car should start rocking.

I finally finished the race with the stolen car from the Auto Dealer. That car is so fast, the race wasn't even close. I then went on to the Ice Cream Truck mission, which is very funny. I had a hell of a time on the Triad Warlord Mission, that was a tough one.
BTW, the only cars you cannot pick up hookers in are a taxi, cop car, ambulance, or a firetruck.

After seeing IGN and Gamespot give the game a 9.6, I dropped the $50 sight un-seen.
Man, was it worth it! I have the second GT for Dreamcast, and I loved it, but the difference is like going from Mario Brothers on NES to Super Mario 64!
(I've not been able to pick up a hooker. How do you do it? Does it have to be at night? Does there have to be a pimp around?)

I'm having a hell of a time with the sniper mission...:Spoiler:This is the one where the mob boss up on the hill has you take 8-ball to the ship and blow it up. Well, I take a great spot on top of the warehouse across from the boat but, I only have 30 rounds. I usually hit/kill the Columbians with the 1st shot but, 8-ball keeps getting whacked.
...any tips from you guys that are past this one????

FOUND IT!!! I had to go to some broke down mall on the ghetto side of town and pay $52 for it, but I know it will be so worth it.

To get past that sniper mode you just have to take out the guards in sequence starting with the two at the bottom of the plank by the trucks. then work your way across left to right. Also shooting the barrels causes a few dudes to eat it!
Good Luck!

Besides Joseph Lieberman possibly, does anybody know someone that doesn't like this game? I know I love it. The hooker trick is kinda cool, but when you use the sideview buttons, you can clearly see that nothing is happening at all. If only the ESRB gave the game an A rating..... :D

Grrrrrrr!!!!!! I am officially stuck in GTA3!
I have finally gone back to playing the baddest game this year and I am having a hard time with two missions.
the S.A.M. mission were you have to blow up the Colombian airplane and deliver the packages and the Decoy mission for Donald Love. The S.A.M. mission I am having a hard time getting back to the construction site, the damn cops kill me or bust me before I get back to Staunton Island. The Decoy mission is just plain hard.
Pointers anyone?

Ok, here's what I remember from those missions, it may help or it may not... but for what it's worth, here it is.

Ok, the S.A.M. mission. What I did, was after I had the cargo from the plane I hauled ass north, under the bridge in the boat. I docked it on the other at the first dock on the right, ran up the hill (dodging the 5-0) and went charging into the parking lot across the road. Jacked one of the cars in the parking lot and pinned it out of there straight down the road running east. It's not far to the construction site from there. Of course success depends greatly on how lucky you are.

Now the Decoy mission. If this is the one where you have to take the securicar and get the fuzz to follow you, then the easiest way I found to do it was to head for the nearest tunnel, then drive down the centre of your side. The cops just bounce off your rear end. No problem.

Good luck.
