I don't believe this myself, but this site lists games release date and name "Sin City".

Yes, but near the beginning of the year (2003), EB.com listed the release date for Halo2 as summer 2003. Unless you hear it from the developer, I wouldn't trust it.

The "Sin City" title was supposedly an April's Fools joke from Rockstar last year that worked too well. They have come out twice since and said straight up it was a joke and that this is NOT the next GTA game (as cool as it would be.) No one really knows what the next GTA incarnation will be yet, they are playing it close to the vest.

SF and Vegas would make for prime locations though...

Yeah, some places (like Game Informer) continue to call the next GTA "Sin City", even though that's not true.

The latest OPM says it might just be called GTA5.

Except it won't. So far Rockstar/Take Two haven't even called it GTA4 - it's "the next GTA title".

DOH ! New Info from this site - Multi Theft Auto

Update: We have received word from Rockstar. The title of the next GTA will not be GTA IV: Sin City. They did not specify the correct title but if we follow logic then we can conclude it is San Andreas.

The release date is not correct either, but is close to the predicted date.

On April 1 2003 Shacknews launched the news that the next title in the GTA series would be Sin City. This was a prank off course.

A couple of weeks ago Take 2 Interactive (the parent company of Rockstar) had launched the news that they Rockstar North started work on the next GTA title and that it was named GTA5 for the moment.

Now the story takes a whole new leap. On Amazon you can now pre order the following item : Grand Theft Auto IV: Sin City. Where this item comes from, no one knows, but the release date there is set on 4 november 2004.

We have asked Rockstar for a reaction about this and are waiting for there reply. We would be surprised if a prank becomes reality. (Now let us hope they don′t integrate MTA in it .)
