Hey I hope this is the right section to post in, because I couldn't find any other place that seemed appropiate to ask a question about headphones. Anyways, I have a pair of grado sr-80s which I love, except that the left side starts to vibrate and make a noise whenever I listen to anything with bass. This wouldn't be too much of an issue, except that I like to listen to rap once in a while. I emailed grado and they said I could send them in to get repaired, but I was wondering if this sounds like a DIY project, because it would take a long time to ship it there get it repaired and get it shipped back. If you guys think I can do it, do any of you guys know how to open the headphone, because I can't figure it out?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Eric

If it rattles, it sounds like probably the driver is damaged, meaning it probably needs to be replaced. I would recommend you let grado fix it. And turn the volume down, you are irreversibly damaging your hearing.
