OK, so I've decided to chuck the DIY Bose system and after speaking with GR Research I am looking at some AV3's for front and center, then AV1's for surrounds. (I'm currently building a Dayton sub first).

I'm wondering how the sound compares to some that I've heard. The best setup that I've heard recently is a JBL Studio series system at my friends house. It consists of:

Arg.. can't post URLs. If you goto JBL's site, its the Studio Series.

    S36II surounds (?ProdId=S36II&SerId=STU&sCatId=BFS)
    SCENTERII center (?ProdId=S%2DCENTERII&SerId=STU&sCatId=BFS)
    S312II fronts (?ProdId=S312II&SerId=STU&sCatId=BFS)

Any ideas how the AV's would stand up to the above system in home theater? I'm sure they would sound better, I'm just wondering how much better, as that JBL system sounds really nice.

    Thanks in advance.

I know a guy that has the S38's and the SCenter in his HT. They sound good for the money, but don't have the same midrange clarity and smooth top end that the A/V series speakers have.
