Well i had a technician come look at my 36" JVC HDTV model av36-p903

Took off back off tv and said since my purity problem is come and go, he will have to order new tube.
He says the yoke on this tv is glued to the tube so no adjustment is possible.
Should be about 10 days for new tube. my warranty covers it
What can I expect from them replacing my tube?

I would hope you can expect a normally functioning display. But its needing a new tube while being this new is pretty severe. Have you thought about calling JVC up and requesting a replacement set?

why would they give me a replacement set?
The tech said it may be due to beign lightly dropped in manufacturing or soemthing.
It was also a floor model so he said that may have soemthignt o do with it also.

Well, you didn't mention that it was a floor model, which changes everything.

If it had been a new, fresh-from-the-shipping-carton display and the tube went bad, insisting on a replacement set while the unit is under warranty would have been perfectly understandable and logical.

But there's no way of knowing how severely it was treated when it was on the showroom floor.

Take what you can get, Jeremy. But even with its being a floor model I would have asked JVC about replacing the set entirely. You paid for a functioning TV and you don't have one. JVC owes you what you paid for.

the tv functions fine....except for small amounts of purity in the corners that come and go. and when you watch widescreen material, you cant tell.
