Got my SVS, spl meter, Avia disc, now what? (1 Viewer)

OK, I was able to calibrate my sub easily enough for my DVD's. But how do I calibrate different input sources and surround modes? The bass output through the optical on my Ultimate TV seems weak compared to DVD's and CD's. Also, different surround modes such as logic 7 and 5 channel stereo seems to have less bass than no surround.

Is there anyway to account for these differences without test tones?

Guy, can you give us a little more info? Like what Pre-pro or reciever your using?

Yes, I'm using an H/K 310 receiver along with a PE 250 plate amp and SVS 25-31. Mostly want to know how to calibrate my sub for Dolby Digital movies on Direct TV.
