Jurrasic Park, played on an old RCA 310, analog audio, composite vid.

I have a new respect for Pro-Logic.

System = HK AVR110 and a Sony "V" series 27"

Talk about movies on the cheap! Still, I have to say that when I compare the DD DVD to the analog LD, I prefer the LD. How can people sell these things? I have the cheapest used player I can imagine, and I wouldn't let it go for twice what I paid for it! ($50)

Call me crazy!

You're crazy! ;)
Actually, uncompressed PCM on LD rivals DD in clarity and soundstage. I watch and listen to quite a few concert and music LDs on my player (CLD-99) and to me they, for the most part, blow away DD and DTS DVDs of similar material. That said, you should hear DTS LDs! Nothing really compares in the realm of HT, IMO. As an example, the Blade and Titanic DTS LDs are absolutely incredible. I've heard anyting on DVD that compares to them.

My mother thought we were really having an earthquake when I showed her the DTS version of Daylight LD.

The Bass Shakers just about knocked her off the chair
