What I find most amazing is that the news selection is done completely by computer without human intervention or editing. Yet the end results are excellent, and IMO more interesting and comprehensive that what is displayed on AP/Reuters/Yahoo News or MSNBC News. Google really does do many things well.

Also, the updates seem to be more often then my ISP start page and other news sites. Amazing it is.
