Just started to build my HT and going to put SR5000 into the base. Gotta cost me about $310 shipped from the AC4L.com
What do you think, is there anything else of the same sound quality in this pricerange?

Personally, I don't think there is. I just bought an SR4000 ($150!) to replace my old Sony DE815 in the bedroom, and I have to say it is a solid unit. They didn't have any 5000s at the time, or I might have gone with one of those. I did find a repaired 5000 for $300 at my local dealer, but I think it is gone. I have an SR6200 in my main system, and I actually feel the 4000 sounds better for music, which is what it is being used for, even with 35wpc less. I tried it out in my livingroom, and I was impressed. Great amps and excellent sound. I think you will enjoy it.
