At the moment, I'm looking into a power amp (w/out a pre). A separate pre-amp would come later on.

I went the integrated amp route for my two-channel, Classe CAP-101 mated with B&W Nautilus 804s. Breathtaking!

used Naim Nait 5 integrated and JM Reynaud Twins MK III

Other good integrateds:

Blue Circle CS
used Cairn 4808A
Primare A20

All of the above integrateds would go great with any of the French speakers; JM Lab, JM Reynaud, and Triangle.

Here's a link to Stereophile review(s) of the PS Audio HCA-2 amp. For the purposes of this review, the HCA-2 powers some Quad ESL-989 electrostats, Sonus Faber Cremonas, Paradigm Reference Studio/20s, and Revel Ultima Studios... any of which would unfortunately exceed your budget when paired with this amp.
