Have you tried partsexpress? I can't post a URL yet, but their URL is just a matter of adding a few w's and a dot-com.

Their prices seem to be quite competitive.

I recently ordered several items from them (including plates and in-wall wire) and received them promptly (4 days maybe?).

Why use wall plates at all? Just run the wire directly to the speaker and save the expense and trouble of all the extra connections (wall plates on both ends of a speaker run means you have 200% more termination points per speaker). You can use a blank cover plate with a hole drilled in the center.
