Overstock.com is running a deal on Indiana Jones for 39.99 plus 1.40 for shipping... or, if you're like me, you could place a huge order and pay only 3 bucks for shipping on the whole thing.

One caviat, they still list the ship date as 11/4, so you may be forced to wait, since I called them on it, and they weren't budging.

They also have Nemo for 16.99, and Looney Tunes for 46 something. I also ordered Monty Python's Meaning of Life, though that price was the same as Amazon and Buy.com

    Good shopping!

Quick question: I went to Overstock tonight, because I saw that they had the lowest price on a pre-order title I wanted, but after looking at several pre-order discs, I'm stumped as to how to actually purchase one! When I click on "Click here to purchase", the resulting page only has a place for me to enter my e-mail address to be notified when the title is available, not a way to put the pre-order into my shopping cart. I got the same result with Alias: Season one and LOTR: Two Towers. Am I missing something obvious?

Maybe I'm just thick tonight, but I'd appreciate any pointers here. I've purchased non pre-order items several times before from Overstock, so I thought I was familiar with their process, but maybe I'm not as familiar with it as I thought.

    Thanks,

    - Bob P.

I was logged in, clicked on the pre-order items you mentioned, and it put them right into my cart... maybe you have to log in? That's the only thing I can think of.

Woohoo, ordered four! Also found a link for 10% off at another site, so that helped a bit. I also got $5 off for being a new customer. Total came to $140 for the four sets. Not bad, huh?

I didn't get the 5 dollars off, but I did manage to get Indiana Jones, The Simpsons Season 2 and Futurama Season 2 for 99 bucks (including shipping!) [IMG]

Also, they are now listing the Indiana Jones release date at 10/21, but they also posted a note saying "Limited Inventory! Sell out Risk: VERY HIGH"

Yeah this is definitely a great price at Overstock...however I'm probably going to B&M this for a few bucks more. Best Buy, or some other B&M is sure to loss-leader this to within a few bucks, and I have had stuff from Overstock take quite a while to get to me. This is a set I'll want day-n-date and will probably watch at least one movie that night. [IMG]

But thanks for keeping an eye out for all of us! [IMG]

I have to shop online, there are no good stores within 25 miles of me, and no Best Buys or Circuit Citys etc within an hour's drive. Ah, to live in the sticks.

    Carlo,
These sets are mostly for Christmas gifts, so I'm okay with waiting. One of them will be for me though, so that'll be tough. I've been waiting for Indy for a very long time.

Don, why not instant-grat yourself for your personal copy? I would think Best Buy (or another big B&M) will come very close to the Overstock price...getting the rest cheap for gifts makes total sense though.

    One caveat...

It appears that Overstock.com charges your credit card for the preorder immediately. I just checked my statement, and I have a 130 dollar charge from them, the amount of my entire order. It thins out my funds GREATLY, so you might want to watch out for that.

Whoa, I didn't know that! That's actually pretty much against standard practice isn't it? (though not necessarily illegal)

I just seem to remember a lot of E-tailers stating "We never charge your card until your order ships!"

I sent them an email, asking if it was standard policy.

If it is, I won't be pre-ordering from them in the future.

I would seriously wait before ordering this online. One of the B&Ms will be just as low, if not lower.

    Dave...

That's nice, if you live near a store that does Loss Leader. I have K-Mart... otherwise it's an hour drive.

I live in the sticks. Considering today's gas prices, driving two hours round-trip isn't worth saving 5 dollars.

In your case, I agree. However, I am within a 10-15 min. drive of all the B&Ms so I will just wait.

Check card. And the money wasn't reserved, it was taken out.
