Edit: Should've said CPU TEMPERATURE monitoring program...

Hi, i have an AMD Thunderbird 1.33GHz, and AMDs are known for its massive heat output... Currently i only have one fan in my computer, the CPU heatsink/fan besides the one in my PSU... I will be getting two more soon, one for the back panel, and one for the front panel (my case has places to put these)...

Its been VERY hot weather these past few days too, so that isnt helping...

Whats a good CPU temperature monitor program?

Also, will adding the two fans (80mm x 80mm) cool down my case/cpu a bit?

    Thanks

I have the same question, also an off-topic one, as Nick does since the thermal compound thread was brought up a week or so ago. My motherboard came w/software and one is for monitoring your system. My bios says temp is at 39C, but windows is at around 48C. I don't know which is right. Would it be better to invest in a more reliable system monitoring program? Hows the one that comes w/Symantec NAV?

I run Intel Active Monitor.. It works directly with my
Intel MoBo's SMBUS and it's accurate.. [IMG]
But it's intel only.... MotherBoard Monitor 5 works well
    for non intel boards..

If you have an Asus motherboard, then you can install Asus PC Probe, which should be on a CD that came with your motherboard.

    Another question:

Do those "CPU Cooler" programs work?? It looks like it takes over the computer's idle process in its own program according to the task manager...

    As Brett mentioned: http://mbm.livewiredev.com/
Download it then go to the manufacturer of your board on the left to see what the sensors are.
