What do you guys think is the best cheap Direct TV satellite reciever? My price range is under $150. Also can you use old Primestar recievers with Direct TV and just update the card? Thanks.
Circuit City has the Hughes Model GCEBOA for $150 and free shipping. This is a SD receiver w/ DD output.
I've been very happy with the 3 Hughes receivers I've been using for the last 4 years (cheaper models, no DD output). I also have a Sony w/ DD output on my main system that, although it's been trouble free and the DD output is great, I prefer the menu system and the speed at which the Hughes receivers change channels, better than the Sony.
