I would like to get a 4ch amplifier installed in my Mazda Protege. It seems quite difficult to find an audio installer that has a good reputation. Does anyone here have any suggestions on where I can get this done with quality work? I'm looking for an installer in Markham or the GTA.

    Thanks.

    Have you tried Kromer Radio?
    They've been around since 1957.

Look for a MECP-certified installer. There's the basic MECP and the higher 1st class level.

I'm having a MECP installer (probably 1st class) do the installation on my car audio system in about two weeks time.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll definately check for that certification.

I doubt I'll be going to Kromer. I haven't had very good experiences there over the past year. The sales people have gotten so pushy and rude. It used to be a store where the sales people would stand back and let you explore the store. Now all they want is a quick sale.

    David,

Which amp are you installing? What's the rest of your system?

    Here's my planned installation:

Vehicle: 1996 Mazda extended cab pickup
    HU: Alpine 7873 (new)
Front speakers: Boston Acoustics Rally RX87 5x7 (new)
    Rear speakers: stock
    Sub: 12" SVS (used)
Enclosure: to be determined, probably sealed ~1 cu.ft
4 channel amp: Orion CS200.4 (used)
    Wire: 4 gauge Knukonceptz
Sound deadening: 10 sq.ft B-Quiet's Brown Bread (doors only)

I asked my friend, who is into cars a lot more than I am...
He suggested Kennedy Hifi (Steeles & Kennedy), or Ultra Auto Sound up in Mississauga.
