Dammit, being a dog lover, I quite enjoyed this movie, and the extras sound sweet, but MGM is releasing it pan and scan only! [IMG]

MGM apparently subscribes to the Disney theory that families only like full screen, that they don't like the black bars on the screen. I just wish MGM would just release seperate widescreen and fullscreen DVDs.

Families don't own widescreen TVs either?

With all of these MAR-only titles coming out, I'm saving money left and right! [IMG]

Actually, Disney's gotten better lately. MGM and Columbia seem to be the main culprits now. And yet, some family films they do release OAR, and some non-family films they release non-OAR. There seems to be no real rhyme or reason to it.

I'd like to hear MGM's criteria they use for whether the didk has both versions or not seems completely arbitrary to me.

I hadn't heard about this title, but I saw an ad for this in Wal*Mart last night. This is a new movie! I can't beleive there won't be a widescreen version! Shame on MGM.

MGM has several full-screen-only "family" DVDs on the way. The worst example is the Sean Connery film Sword of the Valiant: The Legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, whose OAR is 2.35:1. (MGM is promoting it as a family-film title.)
