Looking for a pair of good surround sound speakers under $150. Any hot buys out there? Thanks.
$10 over budget fully finished, well under budget if you build yourself.
If you call the Salvation Army they will haul away that old water heater in the corner of your room for free. Let me know if you want their #.
Paradigm Atoms, @ 189. Nothing else will touch them at that price. The micros at 150 are very small, and have very little bass. It's worth it to step up to the atoms.
Dustin's recommendation is an excellent one. The SCH kits will easily best anything under $300. I know of one person that preferred them over the Axiom 3Ti's by a landslide.
But then how would I get hot water
Actually just my jealously showing...consider in have lowly 8" box sub.
You can get a pair of JBL N26 speakers for under 150 bucks. If you are looking for bipoles/dipoles for around that price, then your SOL.
yup...go for the SCH k05b50s
don't be surprised if you get the urge to move them to the front...
Fluance has a pair of Bipole surrounds for $100. Their 5 speaker packages have received very favorable reviews on this forum and others. Their other speakers seem to have even better construction and components, including gold 5-way binding posts as well as speaker spikes and bi-wire posts on their floor standing models.
Hope this helps
I agree, Paradigm Atoms are hard to beat at just 189 a pair.
You can probably get a pair from Ebay for less then $150.00. Once broken in the Atoms sound even better.
