I'm a complete beginner to the sport and am looking to pickup an inexpensive set of clubs just to play around with. Can anyone recommend a set/bundle for me? Hopefully online... Thanks all!

Have you tried your local classifieds for a used set or a store like Play It Again that sells used sporting goods?

I would check out the local garage sales for a set. I can't recommend a set or brand because frankly, at the beginner level it probably won't make a difference what you use. As long as the shaft is true and the grips are good you should be ok.

Another vote for Play It Again Sports if you have one near you. They always have a bunch of low or very low cost clubs/sets that you can buy just to see if you like the game.

Thanks for the "where" recommendations. However, what am I even looking for? For example, what should I search under on eBay? E.g., "used taylor made" Thanks!

you want a "name" brand cavity backed club. Steel shafts and you want to take the time to get a swing evaluation to see what kind of "offset" you would be best with. You won't go wrong with Tommy Armour 845's or a generic knock-off of that club. King Cobra is aother club that you might get cheap. Plan on 150 bucks for irons and get a 5 and a 3 wood (doesn't have to match the irons, but should match each other. Then you want to find a sand wedge for once you get in close.
