I have a dumb question. Are the seats behind the net considered the worst ones or what?

I can afford the "Club" seats in yellow but some of the "Main" seats in red are behind the net, and they are more expensive. To me they seem like horrible areas, since no one views a game like that. Am I right?

For almost any sport I think it would be better to sit more to the sides rather than directly behind the net or goal. Behind the net you see the action at one end pretty well but the other end is hard to see.

The seats behind the baskets are not the greatest at the lower levels, as you lose perspective on the action. When sitting higher up in the arena, those seats are not terrible, as you have more of an overhead view of the court.

My preference for Basketball games is to be around mid-court up a little ways. I have sat Second Row a couple of NBA games and really dug that experience as you could hear the players and refs talking on the court. Basketball gives fans the closest accessibility to the players of any major sport which is both a good and a bad thing (see Detroit-Indiana brawl).

Being close behind the basket really isn't that bad. I've sat there a few times during Terps games (I go to Maryland), and the view is pretty good. The court is small so it's not like the action on the other side is impossible to see, like if you were in a similar position at a football game. The big problem is that, depending on exactly where you are, the basket can obstruct part of your view.

EDIT: Considering the pricing, you'd probably be better off going for the club seats, if you can get them reasonably close to the center of the court.
