Hey gang. New to the forum. I just stumbled across it last night while perusing options for my next surround system upgrade and decided I'd go ahead and join after reading a few pages into the reviewing subs for under $1,000 thread. I don't consider myself an audiophile, nor do I know much about high-end equipment, but I do appreciate how a good surround sound system completely changes the home theater experience.
I'm currently running a Klipsch R12SW sub and cheapo Onkyo surrounds off of a Sony STRDH550 receiver. The receiver is something I got as a gift from my job (safety incentive kinda thing) and it works surprisingly well, so it keeps its spot for now. I'll be looking to upgrade the Onkyos in the first or second quarter of 2017, and I'm interested in learning what else is out there.
