    Hey there fellow HTF'ers. Here's a stab in the dark-a cellphone/email question.

A few days ago, I got a Motorola Razr V3 phone from Cingular. I am currently familiarizing myself with it, and would like to know if anyone here knows how to configure it to access my Gmail account? Any ideas? Is this do-able?

The user manual is a piece of crap.

    Hey y'all--

Noticed obviously that no one replied, but I found the answer on another forum. Here's how it's done:

    *********************************
    ISP Settings:
    APN Address: wap.cingular
    UserName: [email protected]
    Pass: CINGULAR1
    DNS IP: 0.0.0.0

    E-Mail Message Setup:
    ISP Settings: GRPS
    E-Mail Provider: Custom
    Protocol: POP3
    UserName/User ID: [email protected]
    Pass: Your Password
Sending Host: photo.mycingular.com (my sending host was set to "cwmx.com"--I left it as that, and everything works fine.)
    Sending Port: 25
    Receiving Host: pop.gmail.com
    Receiving Port: 995
Return E-Mail: Same thing u put for your Username/User ID
    Ceanup: None
    Save On Server: Yes
    Notification: On
    Check New Messages: 30 Mins
Hide Fields: Optional (But i have hide cc and bc )
    Auto Sig: Optional
Security: Enable SSL for Receiving DO NOT enable it for Sending
    Warnings In Background: Break Connection
    Size Restriction: 10240

There ya go!! Will work perfect, make SURE you have POP enabled in ur gmail settings on your computer or else it wont work period!! Also, it will take a long while the first time you connect because it will download every single message in your inbox, UNLESS you select, "Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on" In Gmail>Settings>Forwarding and POP>POP Download
    *********************************

All I know is (from 3 hours on the phone w/ Microsoft and from researching the software) is that the razr software will break Outlook 2003 (the add-in will keep it from running).
