I'm not sure how many of you have had this gasket problem but it very widespread and it failed on my Venture van in the fall of 2004. I've been talking with the lawyers involved with the case and I am very strongly leaning towards lending my support as a plaintiff in the proceedings. I know this will likely take years and may never amount to anything but its worth trying as GM is clearly hiding from their responsibility with this widely acknowledged problem with their gaskets.

Here's the list of vehicles that are affected by the problem.

    1995-1997 Buick Riviera

    1995-1998/2000-2003 Buick LeSabre

    1995-1998/2000-2003 Buick Park Avenue

    1996-1998/2000-2003 Buick Regal

    2000-2003 Buick Century

    2002 Buick Rendezvous

    1996/1998-2001 Chevrolet Lumina

    1998-2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

    1997-2003 Chevrolet Venture

    1999-2003 Chevrolet Malibu

    2000-2003 Chevrolet Impala

    1995-1998 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight

    1995-1998 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight

    1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue

    1996-2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette

    1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass

    1999-2003 Oldsmobile Alero

    1995-1998/2000-2003 Pontiac Bonneville

    1997-1998/2000-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix

    1996-1999 Pontiac Trans Sport

    1999-2003 Pontiac Grand Am

    1999-2003 Pontiac Montana

    2001-2003 Pontiac Aztec

I'd be more likely to assassinate a GM executive to get my point across, than to participate in another class-action lawsuit.
Read the fine print. "Fees not to exceed $29.5 million, but not less than $28.995 million, and for you- a shiny new Buffalo nickel, and $50 coupon toward your next GM. Now, don't spend it all in one place, son."

Sorry, too many stock class-action BS suits. Do I seem bitter?[IMG]

I highly doubt my next vehicle will be a GM [IMG]

There might not even BE a GM by the time you get the coupon.

Sweet, I have 2 cars from that list! Cant wait to shell out $1600 for head gaskets! How many miles were on your van when the problem occured?

Also, gotta love the fact that directly to the right of the article linked is an ad for the Cadillac Escalade. A GM made truck.

Wife has a 1999 model and sure enough it started leaking water last year, about a radiator full every 25-30 miles. Cost me 1000.00 to get it fixed. Never going to buy another GM prdouct again since I've had nothing but problems with this car.

It would have been around 65,000KM at the time it blew up.
