Girder - IR model??? (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

Which IR transceiver is best with Girder? I am looking to control everything through my IPAQ -> Netremote -> Girder -> IR trans --> (AV components/x10IR/projector)

Also, which one is capable of adding/wiring a second one to extend the IR range/coverage?

I don't know which one is technically "best" but I use Irman from Evation and I'm quite happy with it.

Can you wire a 2nd one to do IR to a different area that one transceiver just cannot cover?

The irman is just a receiver. It doesn't transmit. I use the USB-UIRT and to get the signals to a different part of the house, I simply use the ratshack ir repeater pyramids.

How well do the pyramids work? Any noticeable lag, or missed signals?

Martin, the pyramids work pretty well. In terms of lag or missed signals, I would say the same as any direct remote. The key is making sure that the 2 pyramids can't see each other. You can get signal bounce and garbage that really can play havoc with the UIRT/girder combo.
