$5,250.00??????? I know that averages out to $21 a title, but who in the hell could spend that much on DVDs at one time? That's the craziest thing I've ever seen.

The main purpose of such an offer is not to sell X number of Criterion collections at $5,250 each. It is simply a promotional gimmick to get people talking about Criterion DVDs at the busiest selling time of the year.

It appears to be working.

Man this is fantastic! I held off buying all criterion dvd's waiting for this moment, that way I would not have to double dip. Now I can get them all at once!;)

As far as calling it a promotional gimmic, I can't beleive that the Hammer & Sickle newspaper has never done this before with their headlines. :)

Just think of the customs & shipping fees for the sucker that decides to take advantage of this great deal!
