Ahh, the lovely Ms. Tierney, one of the most beautiful women to ever come out of Hollywood. Add to that a wonderful Herrmann score, and you have a charming movie that will find its way into my collection.

Fox has done it...I guess I found 3 "Studio Classics" to buy.
Looks like this, The Big Trail, and Cavalcade will be finding a way to my DVD rack. [IMG]

20th Century Fox gets my vote as Studio of the Year 2003 before the year has even begun. First THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL and JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH, and now this - Fox has made this Bernard Herrmann fan very happy indeed.

The Big Trail's coming? Good news! I taped it off of TCM a few years back, but my tape was defective and the sound was extremely poor. Unwatchably poor. So, I'll finally get to see it!

We are less than a month away! Anyone else getting excited to see this film on DVD?

Today is a rainy day. Just perfect for my wife and I to watch this film. Oh well.

Yeah, it's a rainy day here too... a perfect day for such a beautiful film. But since I'm in Oregon, we get lots of days like this. [IMG]

This title & the release date was listed in the "Sunrise" offer included in the earlier Studio Classics DVDs.

I believe this was Herrmann's own favorite of his movie scores.

He used themes from it for his opera, "Wuthering Heights."

Just to be clear, he didn't write the score to the Wyler film of "Wuthering Heights."

    Very exciting news, indeed.
