    Hello everybody,

Does anyone know an effective way to get that foot stink smell out of birkenstock sandals? I can't wear them anymore because afterwards my feet stink from them. I need some suggestions! I don't want to buy a new pair yet.

    Thanks for all the help!

I've always heard that you can get rid of shoe odor by sprinkling baking soda on the insole and then freezing the shoes to kill off the bacteria. (Seriously.)

I once knew a guy that put odor eaters in his shoes and

    shrank two inches.

Hmm, I've got 6 pairs of Birkenstocks. My oldest pair reeks whenever I wear them. I've never found a way to clear that smell up.

I've got more than two dozen pairs of Birks. Some are a decade old. None of them stink. Do the rest of your shoes stink, or is this a problem related solely (yuk yuk) to your Birks?

I have about 18 pairs of Birkenstocks and Finn Comforts -- sandals, shoes and clogs. At least one pair of Birkenstock sandals is 22 years old and none have ever had the odor problem.

No, its just my Birks, I made the mistake of wearing them in the rain a couple of times. Now they stink.

I used to use hydrogen peroxide on my Teva sandals when I taught sailing; not sure if the different materials would make a difference.
