    Hello again

Thanks to Rob Parker and rest of the HTF gang for running a great site...

I am currently thinking of getting a Flat screen 27" TV from Toshiba, as well as a mini audio system. These will connect to a JVC 5900U VCR, Toshiba 1600 DVD player, and a Variety of gaming consoles- PS2, PSX, DC to be exact.

Can anyone suggest a good audio system that with the following features that will have decent sound and will be good for DVD movie viewing?

Also, if you know of a good inexpensive A/V switcher, please suggest one. Thanks in advance for the repsonses.

    Woo,

The answer to the first question may also be the answer to the

second. However, I think a bit more information may help

    get a response:

    I) VIDEO:

    A) List the game console output type (component, composite, or S-Video)

    B) Does the DVD have S-Video?

    C) The VCR is composite only, right?

    D) Does the TV have S-Video input?

    II) AUDIO

    A) How big is the room?

    B) Are you planning on having a sub?

    C) Format? (5.1, 6.1 ....etc,etc)

    D) What primarily, will your HT be used for ????

    III) BUDGET $$$$$

    JRS

Well, these items will be used in my (bed)room. I will post the dimensions later tonite.

Toshiba 27" Flatscreen TV will only be hooked up to a mini stereo system (though I would like separates, that would be too expensive an option.)

TV - spending about 5-600 USD

Mini stereo system - 2-300 USD

Cables - S video, A/V interconnects and Component

Currently, all game systems are using composites, but PS2 can have an S-Video or Component option - only issue is that I plan to use component for the DVD.

    TV has all three inputs.

DVD has all three types of Video connections; only digital coax/RCA for audio.

    So, in toto:

TV - using component for DVD, S-video for VCR; RCA for everything else.

    PS2 - S video

    DC - composite

    PSX - composite

No, I won't get a sub for the setup - budget is too small. I guess my post is sort of "direction-less", and so does not warrant a response...

Has anyone here used the Toshiba's 27AF41?

Thanks for the response, Jim... I really appreciate it.
