I recently bought a Panasonic 34WX50. I tried to adjust it myself using Video Essentials but the contrast was so far out of range that it couldn't be adjusted from the user menus. I had it ISF calibrated ($400) and after doing his magic, in the service menu, the set looks amazing.

I think the calibrations DVD's should be used on EVERY television set. However, if you spend $3k+ dollars on an HDTV then you really owe it to yourself to have it ISF calibrated.

I've been reading some review of AVIA that say that the calibration doen't work with HD copatible, digital TV. I presume this means the new, big screen rear projection TV's. I have a new Hitachi 53" so I wonder if calibrating it with AVIA will be worth the money?
