For those who don't know, "Get Fuzzy" is simply the funniest comic strip being written nowadays. But today's made me fall out of my chair. It wasn't the punchline (Get Fuzzy doesn't really have punchlines, but rather running gags and storylines), but the gratuitous "Fletch" reference in the second panel!

I tried to convince folks of this about a year ago, but was met with a large round of indifference. [IMG]

I'm a huge Get Fuzzy fan! This is the best comic since Bloom County.

"Get Fuzzy" fans will also like "Monty". They are on the same site. We old timers remember when "Monty" was called "Robotman." These are my two favorite comics out today.

Robotman!!! I remeber that, loved that strip... I guess it's called Monty now, I must check it out...

I also like Get Fuzzy too, but the girl who works catacorner from me is a huge cat person and she's always talking to me about Get Fuzzy so I check out that comic too.

I also like Sherman's Lagoon which somebody pointed out here long time ago...

Best cartoon out there IMO. Other than Dilbert...it's the only one I read. [IMG]

I liked the thread when Satchel, having taken lots of abuse from Bucky and Bucky caused Satchel to lose his beloved wristwatch, finally snapped and got all nasty to Bucky and scared Bucky into being very nice to him.

Another "cute" point was that loser Rob was once depicted wearing a Manchester City jersey...

    Hey Lyle,

I don't really read the comics at all, but I think you've got me hooked on Fuzzy; I just spent a half-hour there.[IMG]

    Thanks for the link,

Borders sells a Get Fuzzy wristwatch for $5.99. You're supposed to buy a calendar or book to qualify for that price but since the watch already has a barcode on it I just went ahead and bought it by itself with no problems. It has Bucky and Satchel on the face.

I love Get Fuzzy! [IMG] Bucky Kat is just too funny. His whole attitude just cracks me up. What I want to know is what happened after he attacked Rob while they were sitting at the table? They didn't continue that storyline.

At the "Antiques Roadshow" taping. The appraiser can't seem to tell the difference between an authentic Steiff Teddy Bear and Bucky's little bear, Smacky, which he got from a "Howdy Meal" at McDoodles:

For some reason I couldn't get to those strips. The site happens to have HEATHCLIFF though. I was reading a few of those. Gately has to have been doing this gag panel before GARFIELD even existed. I still find his gag panel funny, while GARFIELD is just a dried up prune.

GET FUZZY is pretty good but, again, it's the cat that makes the strip. Without Bucky the strip would be a nothing strip.

Bucky is amazingly like a cat that lives with me, the world famous Susie. Susie, a Siamese mix, is very much the "top cat" of the area and bosses me and the other cats around something fierce. For that matter, Chubby Huggs is very similar to the one and only Fluffy Pumpkin.....

"Get Fuzzy" has been my favorite comic strip for some time... until the past couple weeks of "Opus" (of course, if you weren't reading "Bloom County" 10+ years ago, last week's punchline might not have been quite as funny).

Whatever happened to "Robotman"; are those strips archived? "Monty" just doesn't seem to be as funny without him.

One of my cats is seal pointed, with one fang...

I think bucky was based on her, very similar in personality.

    I love get Fuzzy [IMG]

I like Get Fuzzy too, but I think sometimes Conley tends to follow the same formula too closely. Too many strips go:

    1. Bucky: Smartass comment or absurd idea
    2. Rob: Condescending response to Bucky
    3. Bucky: Comment that shows he doesn't really get what Rob just said
    4. Satchel: Irrelevant or stupid remark.

    Anybody else notice this pattern?

    I also love Patrick McDonnell's Mutts - muttscomics.com
