This is a title I've been meaning to pick up, but I kept putting it off in favor of other releases. Anyway, I'm in the Halloween spirit and decided to finally order a copy. Unfortunately, none of the online merchants I tried have it in stock and I can't find a listing for it on Anchor Bay's website. So is it OOP or is the current pressing simply sold out?

Unfortunately, it appears to be out OOP. AB no longer even lists it at their website. It's a great film, so good luck tracking down a copy.

I'm glad I have my copy...I hope this isn't true because this underrated film deserves a long life on DVD.

Well, I got lucky and managed to snag a copy on eBay. Cost me forty bucks but I guess that's the price you pay for procrastinating. Now how much do you want to bet they'll re-release it soon? [IMG]

When discounted Anchor Bay titles began showing up in Media Plays and Suncoasts last year, this and "Knightriders" were frequently seen.

This film is a msterpiece, and one of my absolute favorites, so I snatched up the DVD as soon as it was released. It sure did go OOP pretty damn soon though.

Blue Underground is going to be releasing at least two more Anchor Bay titles next year: Daughters of Darkness and Vampyres. So, I wouldn't be surprised if they were also re-releasing Martin.

I read in Fangoria that Blue Underground's William Lustig is into acquiring new titles — apparently it sounds like that's not the case at Anchor Bay — and is also going to be releasing Romero's "The Crazies" and "Season of the Witch" in 2003.

Are William Lustig and Anchor Bay on good terms since his leaving or is this going to turn into a unfriendly competition?

Or does William still have a hand in AB?

Yeah, now that you mention it I also noticed that they produced the "Discovering The Evil Dead" documentary on the Book Of The Dead : Evil Dead SE.

Just to revive this thread for anyone still curious, I received an e-mail today from Michael Felsher at Anchor Bay confirming that they no longer have the rights to Martin. I hope for the sake of all fans who haven't seen the film or heard the commentary that AB's wonderful commentary appears on a DVD down the road.
