Saw a little bit of a thing on the Today show this morning and it had to do with Generation O. This is the first time I've heard of Generation O. Could someone explain how they came up with that name? Damn, the older I get the harder it is to stay hip. ;)

Sorry, it was the letter O not the number zero. The piece was about diabetes in youngsters and the girl they were talking to was 15 yrs old, which would have her born approx. 1988. So where are all those proud "Gen O" teens? Surely they can explain this. :)

It was a report on OVERWEIGHT youngsters, and that is why they called them GENERATION O.
I don't think this is a new, national, widely used phrase.
This is a TODAY SHOW thing.

Scott_lb, you've got it all wrong! Since they have sex at younger and younger ages, it's Generation O-Face.

After Generation "X" came Generation "Y" (alternatley known as Generation "Nintendo"). Anybody who can't keep this simple fact straight probably belongs to Generation "Archaic".:)

Anyone born in or after 1977 is generation "Y".

I can't remember who told me this, most likely a TIME magazine article.
