Very interested in doing a DIY sub, or two. I have all the necessary tools and have read a ton of the info on here and feel very confident I'll be able to build something. I have a dedicated HT room, 2000ft^3, more or less sealed. I'm somewhat limited in floor space so it would have to be a sonotube enclosure, roughly no bigger then 200 liters (for each enclosure if I do two - one in each front corner). Currently I have a SVS 20-39 PC+ which I am pretty satisfied with but would be nice to have a little more ooomph. Now, here's the dilema - I have a friend that wants to buy my SVS which would give me $800 to build something.

    1. How would a tempest SBB4 with a PE 250 compare to the SVS 20-39 PC+?
    2. How would two tempest SBB4 each with a PE 250 compare to the SVS 20-39 PC+?
    3. What would you do? keep the SVS? build something entirely different? etc...

Any and all advice/opinions are appreciated.

    Thanks
    Geoff

I read somewhere around here that a vented tempest sonosub would be like an SVS Ultra, and that seems about right. But I've never heard a tempest or an ultra myself.
