Well, if you want to DJ, this is something you might want to get. Though the ones with the platter on top that you can play around with would probably be a better investment.
I have no idea as to the sonic qualities, I presume they'd be average, and the drive mechanism to be long-lasting. Depends what you are trying to do with it. If you're serious about HIFI, then you'd probably be better off getting something else.
It's like turntables. If you want to DJ, get a direct drive (well, two). If you are an audiophile, get a nice belt drive. Different things for different tasks. Neither is "better" per se, but who in their right mind would buy Linn LP12s for a DJ setup. That would suck. Sure would sound nice though .
