I was born and raised in England. My entire family still lives over there. Trust me, we Brits enjoyed the series just as much as the more refined-than-average yanks that tuned in :)

P.S. As a dual citizen I can now provide insights into the viewing habits of two entire countries. You’re welcome

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. But please don’t presume to speak for all Brits which would be...well...presumptuous.

'Sex Education' Series 2 on Netflix
Like the first series, this has some strong gay themes. I've been thoroughly enjoying and binge watching the show over the weekend... It still has those laugh out loud moments and some serious undertones. Recommended.

So much dropped over the past few days I've only gotten to see Episode 1 of the new season so far but it's just as good as I remembered it from last season! I hadn't gone back and re-watched the last episode of Season one before I started and was surprised at how much I had forgotten.

Me too! There's a good 'season 1 recap' available that sets things up nicely and makes you smile. Great characters that I felt a bit guilty about forgetting (or was it just the straight ones.....?)

I love all the recent recommendations in this thread!
I have heard good things about The End of the Century and just ordered the Blu-ray from Amazon.

Since I could not buy a [non-existent] Blu-ray of The Blonde One, I am buying the HD download of it from TLA Releasing, doing my part to support smaller, and whenever possible LGBT businesses.
    https://www.tlavideo.com/dvds/2705661/blonde-one-the

I also just happened to find that The Happy Prince IS on Blu-ray in Region 1 now. Just ordered it as well:

The odd thing is, doing a "The Happy Price Blu-ray" search at Amazon makes the UK-region-locked version appear, or the streaming, so here is a direct link:

    Cheers!

Thanks for that! I loved THE HAPPY PRINCE far more than I was expecting to. I have to admit to not being a major Rupert Everett fan in general but he was so good in it and the whole thing was so moving that I'm really happy that there's a region A blu-ray available for fans who aren't yet region free (though you should be!! lol)

My wife and I binged on Sex Education Season 2 Saturday night. I slept 11 hours after that. Loved the show. LOVED it.

Yes, thank you all for the wonderful recommendations here lately and now two more, End of the Century and The Happy Prince. Mark, I agree with you, I try to support LGBTQ businesses as much as possible.

This past snowy weekend I watched the German Center of My World, the Argentinian The Blonde One and the Dutch Just Friends. All very different and recommended. The first two were deeper, Marco Berger's beautifully filmed The Blonde One especially, while I found Just Friends very lighthearted mostly with some laugh out loud funny moments. And I shared Will's disgust and disappointment of the same scene in Center of My World. Nothing "age-related" in feeling that way about betrayal.

And I LOVED the first season of Sex Education, so am looking forward to diving into season two soon. And hope to see Season 6 of Schitt's Creek sooner than later. What a great show! Patrick serenading David with Tina Turner's The Best had to be one of the best scenes filmed for television in 2018.

So how are downloads from TLA? I see that The Blond One is not available at any of the usual digital retailers. Are TLA download/streams in HD (website doesn’t specify)? And is there an app that will facilitate playing them on your home theater system?

My apologies. I forgot the smiley face after my original remark :) Irony needs explaining on the web.

I hope you like it. There was so much hype about it being an exciting thriller I didn't enjoy it at all, expecting something really different. I found it slow and uninvolving, and none of the characters, or even the actors, particularly attractive, though the location is.
Wonder if you'll get the uncut version with the sex scene and orgasm! The old lady in front of me in the cinema when I saw it turned and glared at me at the cum shot as if i was responsible! :) But she didn't walk out!

    Good news!!
That means I can use my new Panasonic UB 420 which is region B looked for BD.
It gives a terrific up scaled picture and I heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a first rate BD and UHD player at a bargain price.
Plus there is a good chance it won't be cut!!!!

Oh you won't be able to miss it! Like the sex scene in Theo & Hugo which I watched last night.

This piqued my interest and sent me off hunting - found series 1-5 on Netflix. :)
Patrick is a button (to quote some more) Hadn't seen any of this show before but vaguely remember something about it being trailed somewhere - probably because of the name. Fantastic scene punch lines and one-liners and a nicely developed gay relationship.
We won't get series 6 until later in the year (apparently).
    Ciao!

Schitt's Creek is one of my favorites. I've watched every episode (currently the final season is airing on Pop on Tuesdays this year) and have a big, big crush on Patrick. He wasn't even on this week's episode, much to my dismay.
