The movie was a big let-down, but I do know a few people who liked it. If the price is right, I may just get it...

Wow, a golden oldie. That's the classic HTF thread-fart.

Adding smileys doesn't make it any more acceptable. If one has nothing to contribute to discussion of the DVD release, the best course is to choose another thread.

I'm buying it just for the "Like Mike" trailer. [IMG]

I don't think I've ever seen the actual individual trailers listed in a DVD announcement. Ah, probably just to pad it out since the only real extras on the disc are the commentary and the music video for that god-awful song they played about 400 times in the film.

GARFIELD has now made over $70 million in the US -- substantially more than several much higher budgeted films with bigger casts and more hype (Around the World in 80 Days, Riddick, Stepford Wives, etc.).

Thus, I think more than "a few people" liked it.

I won't comment on the movie itself to say that I loved it or hated it, because honestly I haven't seen it, and might consider a rental or something...but I've got to say that I am more likely to stick with the animated material which I already know to be high quality.

It may be a rental...and if it is, then if I like it I'll buy it.

There should be no chemistry. Part of the on-going joke is Jon's total ineptness with women.

I mean they play off each really well. they changed the characters a bit for the movie. the movie is mostly from garfield's point of view. then jon or liz. since the movie is about him.

I'm sure he did, since he must have paid $70 Million to see it.

I have no love for this film and the way they maligned the characters, but they did manage to wrestle $70M out of the populace.

The box office results does not mean people liked it, it just means that a lot of people saw it. [IMG]

I know my daughter wants to see this and it does look like a good, family fun film so I will most likely buy it blind.
