I remember back in the SNES days, I'd hook it up to my parents Technics stereo receiver and crank the bass knob all the way and turn the volume way up while playing Starfox. Also, seeing it on a 27" screen, I thought life couldn't get any better.

So of course later on I became a home theater/car audio/video game/ and plain old bass and sound freak. I'm just wondering what games sound the best on your system? Old and new.

Want bass? Then you want Get Bass! [IMG]
More seriously, Quake 3's shotgun still packs as much punch as the Quake 2 one did, but my favorite for noise is still Goldeneye on the N64. I suspect that the 5.1 on Halo is quite fun, but I've not got an XBox to confirm.

Believe it or not, but Luigi's Mansion has some pretty good bass.

The dropships in Halo get the ol' SVS's rumbling... [IMG]

Silent Hill 2 has some very impressive (and frightening) bass in certain sections. There is nothing quite so freaky as being chased by pyramid head in the catacombs while this incessant metallic clanking pounds you into submission. [IMG]

Streets of Rage for the Sega Genesis really struck me with that LFE-type bass back in 1989 - that was the most memorable for me

My vote goes to Halo. Playing Halo in DD 5.1 on a 110" 16x9 screen with DUAL SVS'is (IMO) the best it can get! There's so much bass activity when the alien drop ships come that there's no need to turn on the vibration in the contollers.

I'm not sure about bass, per se, but Jet Force Gemini and Turok 2 on the N64 have some of the best video game music and sounds I've heard. Wetrix is a fun/hard puzzle game with some good techno-style music. Tetrisphere, another N64 puzzle game, has a lot of punchy, mid-bass sounds. Half-Life and Unreal Tournament have good thumping sounds, like Q3A.

Tekken Tag for PS2 has some decent bass. As does NBA Showtime for DC, whenever your character goes on fire and hits a 3, the bass really kicks in.

The first two Panzer Dragoon games (Saturn) sound really good. I heard Colony Wars had a lot of bass.

Twisted Metal Black has some kick to it. My ex-roommate said that Conkers Bad Fur Day did as well. Every beat shook the floor when he turned my sub on. I'm noticed a lot of Rare games being mentioned.
