Okay, I guess this thread is as good as any...

I'm having trouble executing the "Option" plays in the Gamecube version of the game. The controller setups under "Options" shows that the A button (the big green one) should hand-off to the running back, but I can't get it to work. What am I doing wrong?

I can "lateral" it with the Z button, but I don't think that's right. The L button properly fakes a hand-off, but the A button does nothing. Eek! Help!

I haven't played a college football game since the days of the Genesis and I could run the option all day. Is it just more complicated in the newer versions?

Thanks in advance!

Well, after playing the game a bit more last night, it seems that using the Z button to lateral the ball on the option play may be what I'm supposed to do.

But what is the A "Hand off to running back" button SUPPOSED to do? As far as I can tell, it doesn't do anything.

Thanks!!!

I'm a die hard Canes fan, and it was a long ten years until they pounded the huskerettes in the Rose Bowl. Well here's the latest news on this upcoming season...
I just beat the Gators 34-17 so you better believe this season is going to be the Canes winning back to back! :emoji_thumbsup:

Well Willy my #6 Gators beat the #1 Hurricanes 35-7 including an amazing 100 yard kick return for a TD at the swamp so anything can happen this year!

Then reality sets in when I realize we have Ron "Turn and Run Defense" Zook at the helm.

Oh well, my dynasty Gators are kicking butt!

Jason,
Although you directed your question to Doug, here's some info. from another fellow Gator: I don't have the game, but my brother does. According to him, it's all there (mascot, fight song, jaws theme--which is followed up with the "Go Gators! cheer/song). It seems like they included everything but the singing of "we are the boys" between the third and fourth quarters. That would be pretty sweet but, admittedly, probably too much to ask. :)

The Gators are well represented in NCAA2003 (as it was with 2002).
Even the stadium is perfect and Albert is back of course.
No Mr. "Two Bits" but he semi-retired anyway ;)
Another cool feature, you enter your favorite school the first time you boot up, then the school's theme is used throughout the menu selection screens.
A small but nice touch.

Did they spell our name right this year? In 2002 when you play in the Swamp, look towards the two corners of the stadium. It says "Home of the Flordia Gators."

I think you have a malfunctioning game cause the Canes won, either that or you playing on rookie which doesn't count!
Go Canes! :D
