I was thinking about getting the new GBA SP so I could play Fusion and some other Gameboy games, but I'm not that interested in the portability or having to play on a handheld. I'd much rather play on the Cube. The GameCube add-on seems like the better option for me, but will this player be able to take advantage of all of the link features? For example, the Wind Waker apparently allows you to use a GBA to get hints and tips. It seems this wouldn't be available with the adapter. Or, would it? Does anyone know if all features such as this will work?

As the GB Player requires a boot disc and most of the mini-games require the seperate screen on the GBA, I think the answer is 'no,' sadly.

Edit: apparently the boot disc is out. However, that still doesn't remedy the lack of a screen to play the co-op GBA games on (Zelda, Rayman, etc.).

That certainly makes the SP more attractive, but I'll have to weigh the benefits. It would certainly be more comfortable to play a long game like Metroid Fusion on my TV.

    Metroid Fusion... long???

Um, It only took me 5 or 6 hours of game time to complete it.

Actually. The game gives out "better" endings if you finish it in less than 2 hours with 100% of the items.

Eh, get both [IMG]. Hehe, I know, dream world eh?

Personally I plan to pick up a GBA SP once they get released since I do admire the system but had the damnedest time trying to read the screen when playing demo versions. Lighting to the rescue!

I'd also like to give a couple of the connectivity features a go, like unlocking original Metroid, or the Fusion Suit (cosmetic details ARE important!). And my last great hope for getting my girlfriend to play a videogame probably revolves around the 2p option in Wind Waker [IMG].

Do you plan on using the GBA (whether it's the player or the SP) for playing games or linking features?

    Greg-

Just get the Player for now and a GBA later, then. You could get a regular GBA unit that is used for probably $50 or less.

    Morgan is right there.

Once the SP's come out, you'll probably see a good deal of "old" GBA's on the market.

That's a good idea. I really don't need the built-in light for linked features.
