Ok, now i know that the disc is not the same size as dvd discs are. Would it be possible for nintendo to make a dual layered disc? Would the hardware support it? Also what about a dual sided disc? Now i know most games have artwork silkscreened on one side of the discs and also that luigi's mansion didnt seem to use the entire disc, but if they needed more space could these be viable options? or would they just have to go the '2nd disc' route?? Any ideas?

That's a good question. I don't know about the dual-layered thing, but my guess is that they could put a game on two sides if they really wanted. However, it would probably be easier (and not that much more expensive) to use a second disc. It will be interesting to see how many games for the Gamecube need multiple discs.

I doubt they will make double sided games, but probably dual layered. Double sided means no logo on the disc and more fragile discs (easier to get dirt, finger prints, and hair on them).

Looking at both the Rogue Leader and Super Monkey Ball discs, whatever it is that the picture highlights, doesn't appear to be on a seperate layer...
