Well, this is the first US GameCube ad I've seen. It's in the new issue of Rolling Stone. It's rather odd -for Nintendo.
There is the image of a man in fetal position inside a cube. He is holding a GameCube controller. The slogan reads, "Born To Play".

Nintendo hasn't really been advertising much, but more publicizing. To tell the truth, the XB and GCN don't need much advertising for either of them because of how popular gaming has become. Throw them on the shelves, and they will still sell well.
Nintendo actually did something for this "Lockdown" thing on Cartoon Network. They are using it to advertise the GCN, as well as have a contest where you can win one.

That surely doesn't look like it will appeal to the Soccer Moms buying it for their kids for Xmas. Way to go Nintendo! I am ready to start seeing some new ads! Wonder how Nintendo will market the unit in your standard videogame magazine? If its like this, then kool. Just hope they don't ever use those ads of people with cubed heads, as those were dumb if you ask me.
