    Hello all!

I just got a Gamecube last night and today I'm off to buy a couple of games. I am only interested in 16x9 480p games.
My questions is, does the Gamecube have to be "set up" to output 480p and 16x9 just like the Xbox (you know how you have to turn it on without a cd and manually set 16x9 and 480p, 1080i) or does it automatically output those settings when the game supports it? Cause I was playing with the settings last night and I didn't see anything for 16x9 or 480p
    Thank you!

You have to have the component cable and then on some games you have to hold down a button on your controller.

Eternal Darkness is both 16:9 and 480p.

From what I've seen most Cube games are using progressive widescreen.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron is a Must BUY.

Whoops, I meant most of the money games/ great games that are out so far for the tendo are supporting the format.

Rogue Squadron, Eternall Darkness, Waverace Bluestorm, Madden, etc.

    Sorry bout that.

If the game you are about to play is Progressive Scan enhanced, hold down the B Button while booting up. Doing this will allow the "Do you want to display in Progressive Scan: YES or NO" prompt.
Once you have done this, the prompt will automatically appear everytime you play any progressive scan game. (That is unless you say "NO" and switch back to Interlaced mode. Then you would have to hold B again.)

I think that most games go into 16:9 when they do prog. scan.

    Pikmin also does prog. scan.

AFAIK, SSX Tricky is the only game with a animorphic mode.

Just because you've seen people misspell it doesn't make it correct. [IMG] You also don't seem to understand what "anamorphic" means. For our purposes, the term is interchangable with "16x9-enhanced".

I know what animorphic means. Its when a 16x9 enhanced image is shown in a 4:3 ratio so that a TV can stretch out the image and get a better resolution than if it was zooming into a 16x9 letterboxed image.

16x9 is different from anamorphic. 16x9, is generally just a letterboxed image where the actual image is in a 16x9 ratio. Anamorphic, as it is in SSX Tricky, is when a 16x9 image without the letterbox bars is displayed in a 4x3 image, so its vertically squished.

Has anyone found a place other than Nintendo to buy the component cables?
