If scene after scene of talking is what you consider "too fast," well, OK. But I'm pretty sure I already mentioned that I loved every minute of it, because character moments are more to me than battle scenes. But for those expecting a six episode battle, "almost nothing happened."

Arya Stark may not be a young girl anymore, but she still looks like one, and that is what made that scene jarring to me.

How about Tormund’s hilarious comic relief? He absolutely had me in stitches!

Punny. Actually, I wasn't "hoping" for anything. I was just as surprised about
    the Arya sex scene
as anyone else. And I was too busy thinking "oh my goodness" during it to really pay all that much attention to the
    nudity
. I was stunned that they decided to include it in the story but I most certainly was not upset by it. And anyone that was truly upset needs to rethink their priorities in life.

I stumbled upon this teaser that was released before the season started. After this Sunday's episode, it sure feels a lot grimmer than it did before.

Technical comment: Who here is watching via the HBO Go app? I am, on my Apple TV 4K, and I must say that (once again) GoT looks like complete ASS. TERRIBLE black levels, macroblocking and banding up the wazoo, and motion artifacts galore. Every other streaming service on my equipment looks marvelous, with the exception of HBO Go. It's like the early days of Netflix, and it really sucks the enjoyment out of the viewing experience for me. Is anyone else seeing this?

It looked like that on my live feed over directv too.
There was also some stuttering on the picture near the beginning of the episode.
I had to lower the brightness a tad to get rid of some banding .

Ugh. That must be pretty awful with the latest episode which is very dark and likely to show those kinds of artifacts.

So... "Not much happened" is Mike-speak for "no action sequences?" In that case... never mind. A former coworker made pretty much the same comment saying "it wasn't that good" and "it was boring and long" in that no one died, there were no fights, no White Walkers, no action. He can't wait for next week's extended battle sequences.

Those "talking" (aka character development/interaction) episodes always play fast for me. The "big battle" ones seem to drag on and on. I tend to find those long battle sequences, especially if they're mostly CGI, huge bores (I do not much care for "action" movies either for much the same reason) and part of why I'm somewhat dreading episode 3 as I fully expect a protracted CGI "extravaganza." "The Battle of the Bastards" was right at the length limit for me before boredom sets in. I expect to be checking the clock frequently during episode 3.

This series is at its best when it's people talking or short(er) "battles" between no more than a handful of people where you get a good prowess exhibition.

It was pretty bad. I would never subscribe to HBO on a monthly basis based on my experiences with GoT Seasons 7 and 8 and their Go app. It really is horrendous.

You clearly take away only what suits your argument rather than everything I said. Good job. And in that case... never mind.

Experienced some banding in the darker scenes during last Sunday's episode. The image quality wasn't terrible, but it did feel compromised. Watchable, but sure could have been better. Using the same setup, I've seen better cable broadcasts of similar content (that is to say darker scenes) on other networks.

(I'm not going to wait for the Blu-Ray discs though; that's crazy talk. :) )

If you thought last week's episode was bad, you're going to lose your mind with this week's. I'm just assuming something cool is happening because I sure as hell can't see shit that's happening onscreen.

That last half hour was great.

    Makes sense though what happened.

Last three eps I guess we deal with you know who.
