WARNING POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD (or maybe not. sshhh!!)
According to press reports, Pierce Brosnan is furious that the plot of the new Bond movie, including 007's death and resurrection have been leaked to an internet website.
Spoiler:Rumours are that Bond succumbs to an icy death in the new film, which was called -Beyond the Ice- at one time, now its back to being just -Bond 20- and due out in November 2002, Bond is entombed in a tank of freezing water only to be revived by Japanese enemy Mr.Shoka.
Spoiler:The movie also includes a fight to the death on the Statue of Liberty, and there are scenes in Tokyo, Sydney and the Alps.
A Hollywood insider said "Brosnan is furious that this will take away all the surprises".
Anyone here have any more info on these latest Bond rumors, or are they just drumming up publicity for Bond 20?

Maybe you should use spoiler tags. I hadn't heard this before and now a part of this has been "spoiled".
No big loss, tho

Hey fella . . . I bet you're still livin' in your parent's cellar . . . downloading pictures of Sarah Michelle Gellar . . . and posting "Me too!" like some brain-dead AOL-er . . . I should do the world a favor and cap ya' like Old Yeller . . . you're just about as useless as MPEGs [sic] to Hellen Keller.

If it isn't true than why stick those ugly spoilers on my post?
Oh never mind.
It was probably false info leaked by the studio itself to gain publicity for its film, maybe.

I would be pretty mad too if I was starring in a film where that happens and it was leaked. It sounds like a lame movie though. Frozen in a block of ice?

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

Seb, yep a frozen Bond, I got a bit suspicious about the leaked info when I heard Arnie was reprising Mr.Freeze for this latest Bond, and Arnie will also play Mr.Freeze in Men in Black 2, and also in X-Men 2 where he grapples with Storm the lucky bastard!

Don't tell anyone, but I've been told the plot revolves around an arch-villain attempting to take over the world, and James Bond has to stop him.
My confidential source informs me that this time around, Bond will be sleeping with a beautiful woman with a strange name, will use a variety of gadgets to thwart the bad guy and driving a car or boat that can do all sorts of neato stuff.
Now, bear in mind these are just rumours, and it may all be an attempt to throw people looking to uncover the film's plot.

I heard from a 'senior source' that one of the key scenes will take place in a Casino (went so far as to specify blackjack as the game James Bond plays).
But it's all hush hush

And while he is doing all that, I heard from a reliable source he will be ordering a drink....shaken not stirred.
The villain on the other hand will be heard to say: "I'll have a Bond please......frozen.......on ice! :)

Being a HUGE Bond fan, I've got to say that if this is true and the writers decide to go in this direction, I'm going to be even more excited to see Bond 20. It would be interesting to see the roots of Bond explored. I know that the writers considered this concept back when Licence to Kill was in production.

I really hope they get a worthwhile supervillain this time, all the Brosnan villains have been so wishy washy so far, Bruce Willis could have scared them off easily just by showing his dirty vest and trademark smirk.
We need Ernst Stavro Blofeld back stroking his pussycat, with his henchwoman Alotta Fagina and evil laughing henchdwarf Mini-Haha. :)
Dr. Evil: My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15 year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark. Sometimes, he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy - the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical: summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring, we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard, really.

My sources have pointed out that in addition to
the plot revolves around an arch-villain attempting to take over the world, and James Bond has to stop him.

that there will also be, besides the boat, airplanes, submarines and skis used at least once. There may even be some sort of hovercraft and that, invariably, some witticisms will be fired off in a non smarmy british accent. All of this will be done before the requisite time limit of doom has been reached, but he will hold off on the sexual escapades with the female lead until after aforementioned arch-villain is deceased and until after he has been contacted by "R" and "M" via a special video phone that allows the voyeuristic leaders to share a glimpse of their comrade's glory while still giving them time to utter, "Oh, 007".
Regardless, I will see it opening weekend, and add it to the other 19 Bonds in my collection. :)

Well to dispell rumors and myths;
Leaked Bond Script Is Fantasy, Say Producers
The producers of the James Bond movies have dismissed as pure fantasy a description of the plot of the next 007 film that was posted on the website and later picked up by numerous publications. "It's fabricated. We have spoken to the producers about it and I'm afraid it's a fan who's done a James Bond script -- it's not ours," a spokeswoman for Eon Productions told Reuters Wednesday. She added: "the film hasn't got a name yet. It's only in the very beginning of preproduction."
Looks like your 'source' is dead wrong!

Troy my 'source' was a shadowy man I met in a carpark, I couldn't quite make out his face, he wore a hat, smoked a cigarette and talked with a lisp, I think its the same guy who leaked the plot details of Episode III -Attack of the Muppets.

The new film will apparently feature top-notch henchmen with incredibly bad aim, and Mr. Bond involved in some elaborate but easily escapable deathtrap.

"Begin the unnecessarily slow-moving dipping mechanism!"
I really hope they try a few new things with whatever plot they choose; IMO, TWINE was the hitting of rock-bottom for the franchise.
