Yeah Dave, why did you waste your time? All you had to do was be the skanky daughter of a billionaire. [IMG]

In all fairness, it's not like anyone is taking her seriously. The only time you'll hear her music is when morning DJs or late night talk show hosts goof on her. Just like everyone knows that Kevin Federline has a record but really it's just a punchline.

I hear ya, Travis. But somehow it wouldn't actually surprised me if the song was a hit. If I had just heard it and not seen the vid, I would've thought that Gwen was slumming...

Gwen was "slumming" when she released the worst song since Die Another Day -- even if it did become a huge hit. [IMG]

"Hollaback Sellout." What other hits has she sung recently?

"Rich Girl" was a pretty big hit. And also it seems that she is on every other rapper's single as the "guest vocalist".
I miss the No Doubt days.

surely you're joking, right? L.A.M.B. had no less than six hit singles, making it one of the most successful albums hitwise in the past decade.

Really? Guess I missed 'em. (And based on the one I remembered, it's probably a good thing. [IMG] )

well, each single sounded so much unlike the other that if you didn't have the CD, you might not have realized that Cool, Luxurious, Hollaback Girl and What You Waiting For were all on the same CD.

Personally, it was a sellout, but at the same time, Gwen did a much better job "selling out" to r&b/hip hop at a way that it didn't kill her pop fanbase, unlike how when Mariah and J. Lo went that route, they did so in a way that a lot of their original fans lost interest. She still kept some Gwenness in her work.

Unlike Paris Skankton, Stefani can actually sing.

honestly, there are a lot worse singers out there than Paris, it really pains me to say this since I have thought she was a talentless nobody from the second the media started playing up to her, but in all honesty, her song is actually miles better in my opinion than anything Ashlee Simpson, Jessica Simpson, Avril Lavigne or Britney Spears have recorded. Not saying that it's hard to be better than those, but I was expecting Paris to be the absolute worst thing ever, when actually it's not THAT dreadfully bad in the guilty pleasure sense. I was expecting her to come out with a mega-slutty track similar to Madonna's Erotica or Christina's Dirrty, and instead got a nice little summer track. I'd never give the woman a dime (and no, I don't illegally download either), but at the same time, I wouldn't quite reach for the dial if it came on the radio like I thought I would.

I think she'd sell more records if she formed a band called 'Skank Biscuit'

I wouldn't use the song as any indication of her musical talent just because it did not turn out to be a disaster. I have heard that her vocals were heavilly "enhanced" in the studio. (I believe that Letterman asked he to sing on his show the other night and she declined...big surprise) I would also gamble in saying that she had little, if anything to do with the songwriting project.

Anyway, once she has gotten music out of her system, I'll look forward to her opening a restaurant.

Check it out. Apparently the new song is a virtual copy of an older UB40 tune!

If I were UB40, I'd be suing at this moment.

I was just thinking the same thing. Last Dance with Dani Jane California isn't that good of a song.

Unlike Paris Hilton's previous video experience, she isn't showing off any of her skills in this one. Guys, feel free to skip over this video.
