I just happened to be watching Private Parts on Cinemax tonight. And in the movie Howard rams home the point how much his wife means to him. And I have to laugh. The movie was made in 1997. I think he got divorced a year or two later. It kind of takes something away from watching it. Although, it is still very funny.

2001, actually, though they may have separated a couple of years earlier. And things change - Stern may well have felt that way in 1997 but matters changed. But I see your point - kinda weird watching a love letter to someone who's now his ex...

That's exactly why he named his book "Private Parts" (which was turned into the movie, so his "love letter to his wife" was made sooner than 1997)

He was sure his book would sell well and he wanted to see "Howard Stern's Private Parts is #1" printed in reviews.

    Nick,

I'm not sure if you've read the book, but it is a vastly different beast from the movie. I love both, but the book isn't the loveletter the movie is, the book is more of an autobiography.

That's also why Stern has no desire to do a special edition DVD.
