Don't look at me like that, you all know that delightfully cheesy 80s song called 99 Luftballoons. And you know you like it, too, don't even try to act all cool like you don't.
Now, the singer is German, so the original song has German lyrics. Quite amusing. But then she released another version with English lyrics. Her heavy German accent adds another factor of cheese to the mix, and adds a different element of humor.
So which do you think is funnier- English or German?

German, when used by "Weird Al" Yankovic in "Hooked On Polkas".

    English at all other times.

I think German, especially since she still uses the phrase "Captain Kirk".

I think there was some kind of external remix that used dialogue from both. It was a real killer, because it sounded so strange to go back and forth.

BTW, the german is funnier in the same way that watching foreign daytime dramas in their original language is funny.

I have to admit, I like that song too and have it somewhere on my hard drive, both versions.

I like the German version, mostly since I think it flows nicely and it always jolts me to awareness when I hear the 'Captain Kirk' bit.
