Every once in a while a thread pops up where someone talks about a movie going experience that was blast or completely horrid. These threads are always fun to read so I thought I'd start a new one. We'll expand this, though, to include theatrical veiwings and family/friends watching a movie on your home theater.

One of the funnest memories I have is watching Dumb and Dumber. The audience was laughing so hard it was hard to hear the dialog. Everybody came out laughing and talking about their favorite scenes. I even went back and saw it a second time that weekend and the results were the same. A good time had by all.

Superbad on opening day. Full theater, everyone stoked to see the new Appatow produced movie. Everyone was just having a good time during this movie.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire midnight showing at Continental in Denver. There was trivia before the movie, and people were dressed up. The movie was fun, with the audience cheering on Harry and his friends, booing Voldemore, and applause at the end. It just made for an amazing movie experience.

The first two movies I watched on blu-ray with my friends. Halfway through Top Gun, my friend turned to me and said it sounded better than DVD. That validified my purchase. Then, more friends showed up to check it out, and we popped in Transformers. What a blast.

Also, when starz had Grindhouse double feature with trailers and everything, we built an outdoor theater, moved all my speakers outside, set the couches in the lawn and watched it on a 20 foot screen in HD glory. Needless to say, the nieghbors all came over to check it out.

Your turn.

Once I invited some freinds over to watch Saving Private Ryan and we had a Blast. They were astounded by the surrond sound, from the bullets flying from the back speakers to the front speakers to the rumbling bass of the tanks, they loved it. It was fun.

I also liked going to the mid night showings of both Transformers and The Dark Knight. It was fun seeing all of the die hard fans dress up in really geeky costumes. Good times.
