Well, I've got some free time- I got laid off last month! (Yes, I'm making a dent in my DVD to-be-viewed list.) I'm looking for excuses to get off my butt and go into the city. [IMG] Anyone wanna hit Virgil's (or another place, I'm flexible!) one of these days?

    Aaron;

I was just in the city last weekend, would have been great to meet at Virgin. Right now everything is booked up until January. Pick a date, I'am sure others would like to meet.

January sounds good to me too. I have not been to NY since that hifi/home theater show last May. No plans yet in January and I will be back to the country on Jan 2.

Hi guys! Im flexible, but depends on Ron Epstein and Steve Simon as my primary mission will be to calibrate their sets. BTW, Steve has already has already had his set done, Ill just be doing the HD section.

Perhaps, January 12-16 or the very next weekend.

Anytime except weekend of Jan 18 - 21 works for me.

    - Larry

How about supporting downtown - look/buy a few things at J&R - then eat somewhere in the Village/SOHO.

OK, how about Saturday, January 12 as a tentative date?
Gregg, make sure that Ron and Steve know about it. [IMG]
What do people think about Virgil's vs. trying someplace new, or downtown as Larry suggested?
Ron B., let me know if you need a place to crash. Gonna hit Ikea? [IMG]

The 12th is good with me.

J&R is close, but it has reopened and the area is becoming close to "normal". I work about 6 blocks north of there now (used to work in 7WTC) and am still around. No more odor in the area. Only the perimeter around WTC is blocked off.

Convenience - Not sure where everyone is coming from - the PATH is not open there, but subways to City Hall/Brooklyn Bridge/Wall Street area all open. The 1,2,3,4,5,6,A, C, R and others to the area and the E goes to Canal, which is close. The closest PATH station is Christopher Street in the village - from which its a long walk or a few subway stops away.

Its up to the individual if they want to see ground zero, but some people actually feel a sense of closure/better after seeing it if theyve only seen it on TV beforehand.

Ive been back. There's also a gallery on Prince Street in SOHO with photos of the area before and after, which may be of interest.

The 12th will work for me. As for going downtown that's fine. I was in the west village a couple of weekends ago, near the white horse. What ever everyone would like is fine with me.

The only negative thing about the 12th is some people are just returning from CES that day. Okay, the only person I know of in that category is me[IMG]. Last year I was able to share some of my experiences of CES with fellow HTFers at Virgil's.

The 12th sounds good to me too. Will be fun hitting New York again and meet seom friends.
Aaron, I might take you up on your offer, and also go to IKEA the day after on my way home. Even though I am in Sweden at the moment, one can never get enough... [IMG]

Hey guys. This sounds like fun. One of these days I have to get to New York. But I don't think I can do it this soon. But, I'm thinking of maybe going in September for the U.S. Open. So far the closest I've come to New York State is Niagara Falls, Ontario. And the closest to NYC was when I went to Boston, MA/Newport, RI for a weekend.

Do we have any kind of itinerary for this trip yet?

    We’re only 2-Weeks out now.

Gregg Loewen has added me and my one friend (his name is Shawn too) to his list of calibrations that he is doing on his visit to the area.

Both of us are planning to attend the NYC meet on the 12th as long as the SNOW stays up in Buffalo.

My 50” Toshiba is looking forward to his services on Friday the 11th.
