I recently acquired a Marantz 2220b and am very happy with it, except for one thing. Whoever had it for the past twenty some odd years was a major smoker, and there is a nasty smell of stale tobacco (and other) smoke drifting up from the unit. I’ve taken the cover off and cleaned most of the dust out using compressed air and alcohol swabs, but the smell is still there. Is there any thing I can use to “fabreeze” the smell out?

I bought a piece of gear like this a few years ago. Eventually the smell went away. It might help speed up the process by keeping the top cover off for a while.

Patience as Wayne said. Don't spray anything inside there. Maybe leave the top off and place it in a sunny window or sell it to me for $20.
